Facts About Autism Society Of America (ASA)
Seeing the matter from this perspective, the Autism Society of America (ASA) estimates that 1.5 million American families would be now affected by the developmental disorder called autism. ASA is known to be the oldest and largest organization offering help to the autism community. ASA continues to widen its horizons, bringing in more members everyday, who wish to unite and form a collective voice supporting the autism community.
ASA is dedicated to educate people on the issues related to autism and support the families of autistic individuals, as well as fund research projects carried out on the subject. Additionally, the organization also advocates programs and services for the autism community worldwide.
The research branch of ASA, called the Foundation, was established in the year 1996. The ASA Foundation goals are as follows:
Completely support the funding of autism research and its related spectrum disorders
Provide all other resources required for autism research
Encourage the entire autism community to participate in the research process
Encourage scientists to go deeper into the field of autism research
The Foundation is not merely linked to autism-related biomedical research, but it also concentrates on applied research.
